Black Henna – Phitofilos

Description

Phitofilos Black Henna is a pure powder of Indigofera Tinctoria. On dark backgrounds, this black henna takes on cool, dark tones. On backgrounds with medium to high percentages of white hair (given its blue-blue pigment), the final color turns to ash. On a light-brown background, the natural hue brings the shade to dark brown tones.

If the starting base has a lot of white hair, it is recommended to use a double pass: one covering and one highlighting. For the opaque step, use a Henna Red No. 2 (Egypt red) or Henna Red No. 3 (Iran red) leaving on 15-20 minutes. Then proceed with the reflective step with Black Henna (leaving on for 40-60 minutes). These times may be doubled as a result of failure to fully cover at the second application in time. The first pass, “pre-etching,” creates a good base for the color and brings initial coverage to the whites. The second step is the actual color that turns the shade to dark tones, giving a mainly coppery brownish-brown effect.

Phitofilos Black Henna fully develops its color only a few hours after treatment, oxidizing in contact with air.

How to use

It is used by diluting the powder (depending on the length of the hair) with hot water until a not-too-dense batter is obtained-a semolina of the consistency such that it does not run. About 250-320 ml* of water is usually needed for 100 g of powder. Apply to slightly damp hair. Protect hands with gloves and hairline with a coat of oil or cream.

Once the batter has been spread all over the hair, leave on for between 40 and 90 minutes, depending on the desired result and the starting base. After the allotted time, rinse thoroughly. First with warm water and then possibly make a light shampooing pass until the water is no longer colored residue. Proceed with normal drying.

*The amount of water should always be evaluated on a case-by-case basis and changes according to outdoor temperature, product batch, and time between preparation and application.
